Black Thistle is based in Brechin, in the heart of Angus, a region renowned for producing the finest fruit, vegetables and of course, botanicals. We hand-pick a finely balanced blend of local and more exotic botanicals for each of our spirits.

We use two 850L stills to imbue our spirits with their distinctive flavours. They were handcrafted specifically for Black Thistle Distilleries by the oldest artisan German still manufacturer, Carl GmbH. Still one is used for our gin production and has a 6 plate column and Still two is used for Vodka production as it has 12 plates which ensures a creamy and smooth taste.
The genesis of our gin and vodka begins in our recipe development lab. This is where we deliberate and experiment with combining exciting ingredients and tantalising flavours.
